MOIN!

(my preferred way of saying Hi)

Slowly getting better at this updating your own website thing. Now it’s only been around 18 months instead of four years. So let’s see if I can keep this “momentum” up, if you can call it that. And a lot has happened in that time.

I’ve moved on from the production team at Team Liquid and joined the creative team along with a promotion to become one of the Creative Leads.
For me this mostly means that I can fully focus on the things I enjoy most about my job and simply do more of it. I am still involved in productions as a photographer and director, but I also get to work more on the creatives for larger campaigns and pitches to new and existing partners.

Next to Team Liquid, I’ve also joined Flashback as a Content Creator. This has been the perfect outlet for me to still be “on the ground” on a daily basis creating social content and staying sharp in every aspect of it, from ideation to production to the editing process.

In the past 18 months, I’ve learned some of the most valuable lessons, especially around my relationship to work and creating stuff and making things. I could have never predicted to be in the spot where I am right now, and I am excited to see what the future holds.

It’s been four years since I last updated my portfolio. And pretty much right after I finished writing my 2020 about page, I got a job at Team Liquid, a professional esports organization. Since then I’ve been incredibly fortunate to gain experience in every direction I find exciting.

From leading global photography campaigns, to directing some of my favorite content pieces, to shooting documentaries, to working on apparel collaborations with Marvel and Star Wars, all the way to attending some of the biggest esports events in the world to create photography, shoot video, and make silly TikToks with my colleagues.

But the most inspiring work at Team Liquid have been the ESG and philanthropy projects I get to work on. Most notably the charity campaigns I got to create, which raised over 45.000$ together with our community. This only further motivates me to shift more and more from making funny things to making funny things that are good for the world.

I’m very much looking forward to the future, wherever it takes me and am already curious to see what I’ll write in my next about page (which hopefully will not take another four years).

My name is Dominik Schroeder, but most people just call me Dom.

Through a lucky opportunity I got to shoot one of esports biggest events: ESL ONE Cologne 2018 with little to no experience of photography and only a 500€ camera.

12 months later I shot multiple major esports events and worked with the Pittsburgh Knights during my 6-month university internship. With them I not only got to take my photography to new levels, but also recorded, produced and edited my first docu-series called Knight Watch.

Another 12 months later I finished my university studies and got to work with incredible creators and brands on projects involving photography, videography and editing. With a couple of projects already lined up for 2021, I’m looking for new amazing challenges and opportunities to create the most authentic and engaging content. So what are you waiting for? Hire me!
